THE RACKET : PLAYLIST 46 - Gimme some noise.

THE RACKET : PLAYLIST 46 - Gimme some noise.

For whatever reason we leaned into what we deem a “noisy” playlist this week. We often find ourselves thinking about these playlists in relationship to our parent’s (avid listeners of these tunes) listening experience.

Is this song too loud? Do the lyrics have too much cursing? And though we, for the most part, discard these concerns (sorry, parents), they tinge everything with a note of filial concern.

Which is all a long way of saying that this playlist–with it’s layers of sound, relatively high levels of distortion and slight lean into hipster punk rock–feels noisy to us. But it’s probably just hushed whisper to you.

Anyways, what starts loud, must grow quiet. The last song is almost a classic French ballad from the wonderful Pomme. You’re welcome, Dad.
