THE RACKET : PLAYLIST 48 - On repeat.
Maybe it’s the sunlight, maybe it’s the heat that comes with it, maybe it’s just the free-form scheduling of my life these days, but I’ve been feeling the instrumentals. I’ve been feeling long pauses and fast pick-ups, slinky basses and sonic conversations, solo shreds and savoring a quiet rollout of piano.
It’s not a quiet playlist. It doesn’t exist to live in the background. It’s got Blondie in the pre-fame days, all rough edges and leg kicks. It’s got Bush Tetras as they were meant to be heard at the intersection of new wave and funk.
And it’s got a start and a finish that blend together almost seamlessly, that make the beginning and the end less foundational structures and more a moment on an endless journey.
