THE RACKET : LIST 12 - Water That Pools
It's weird how over the course of twelve playlists I've found myself crafting a sort of "identity" in terms of what I put on these lists. There's a variety of reasons why I might be doing this - the influence of other mixtape purveyors, a sort of delusional notion that I've fostered a listening base and now want to provide them with what they came to hear, the ease of what I've come to see almost as a formula - but whatever that reason may be it doesn't change the conclusion: my playlists sort of sound the same.
And not to say that I don't love the music that's shown up on the first eleven of these things, I just don't know if it accurately represents what I actually enjoy all the time. Maybe this is just a part of mix-making - finding the right song often times supersedes the new Open Mike Eagle song you want the world to hear - but still, there's an Olympic sized swimming pool of music I'd like show my love for on these things and up until now, I'm just dipping my foot in water that pools on the shallow end stairs.
Do I know exactly what this means? No. But I hope you'll stick around to find out.
And with that, LIST 12, in which things get a little shorter, a little louder and finally, finally, a Drake song makes the rotation.
