THE RACKET : LIST 8 - The Funk Inherent

The original intent with List 8 was to find only songs that started with aggressive slap bass. A whole cavalcade of tunes that just charged out of the gate, punch drunk with particularly forward bass licks. As it turns out, unless you're extremely into Primus (and hey, who here can admit to not liking "Jerry Was A Racecar Driver"?), ten tracks of slap bass forward music is, how they say, tiring to the ear. 

Instead, List 7 follows the funk inherent to the slap bass intro, a journey that went far and wide and well beyond the reaches of its original intent. And though every song isn't a blast of bass, the spirit of the slap-bass dream lives on in nearly every track.
